TOPIC 3: Discovery and Optimization of Crop Protection Products

The purpose of this topic is to highlight the most prominent recent results in the search for save and effective new crop protection products. Presentations will include the design, synthesis, optimization and/or structure-activity relationships of new chemistries targeting insect, disease, weed, nematode, vector and animal parasite control. Further subtopics are novel crop enhancement chemistries and new approaches to crop protection products with presentations on the latest discovery tools, like modeling, structure-based design, testing tools or natural metbolite studies. Furthermore, awareness will be created on the tremendous opportunities of green chemistry approaches, such as environmental friendly synthetic methods and production processes, waste and toxicity reduction or use of bio-based materials.

Eminent speakers from around the global will share and discuss their recent highlights in these research areas. Poster sessions will provide a further platform for close interaction between industry professionals, academic researchers, early career scientists and stakeholders from the agrichemical community who are interested in the newest development in crop protection R&D.

The aim of topic 3 is to provide a state-of-the-art overview on current research trends and the most exciting developments in crop protection research and to enhance the profound understanding of modern research approaches. The target audience includes anyone that works or is interested in crop protection R&D, new products, research approaches, techniques and tools.
